Stallion enrollment requires a $7,500 annual commitment. There are no other fees - including nomination fees for progeny.

100% of enrollment fees are paid out to the winning competitors at our events and stallion owners whose stallions produce the most money earners at our events.

No nomination fee is required for horses sired by stallions enrolled in the Southland Incentive.

1.) The enrolled stallion can compete and is eligible for the BIG incentive payout.

2.) Any horse sired by a currently enrolled stallion can compete in our events and be eligible for the Southland Incentive payout.

3.) Horses purchased in the San Antonio Invitational Horse Sale that were by currently enrolled Southland stallions at the time of purchase are eligible for life.

4.) Foals from breeding your mare to an enrolled stallion are eligible for life.

Ex:) 2023 was the first year that stallion owners enrolled stallions. That enrollment made them current for the 2024 season.

Mares bred during the 2024 breeding season will have foals in born in 2025. These foals are eligible for life.

You can enroll your stallion at any time.

November 30, 2024 is the deadline to enroll without any late fees for the February 2025 event.

December 31, 2024 is the deadline to enroll for an additional $1000 for the February 2025 event.

January 1 - 31, 2025 is the only time you can enroll a horse for the same calander year as your payment. The late fee is $2500 and your stallion will not be in any printed materials for the February 2025 event in San Antonio. We do not recommend enrolling during this time period, but enrolling your stallion during this time period will make your stallion a currently enrolled Southland Incentive stallion for 2025.

Progeny by your stallion will be eligible for the February 2025 San Antonio event.

Foals out of mares bred to your stallion in 2025 will be eligible for life.

Yes, we are excited to accept Junior stallions who do not yet have foals old enough to compete AND who are not competing in the event themselves - IMPORTANT - If your enrolled stallion is coming to the event and competing for the BIG incentive payout, the enrollment fee is the standard $7500.

If your stallion is not competing in the Southland Incentive event, the enrollment fee is $5000.

The Junior Stallion enrollment promotes your stallion for the breeding season that your stallion is enrolled and makes all foals resulting from that breeding season eligible for life.

Many owners have frozen semen put up on their horses, so a deceased horse could receive all the benefits of enrollment other than being able to compete at the event themselves.

There is no discount available for enrolling a deceased horse, but they will not be excluded either.

Yes, but only with a letter expressing informed consent from the current owner.

Your enrollment slot is real property that can be sold. It is important that the owner be aware of this and be aware of the fact that it is associated with their stallion.
